Our R&D center was set up and is run by the late Dr. Hassan, who was Pakistan’s most famous and awarded rice breeder and scientist and former chief of the Rice Research Institute at Depalpur Rd, Kasur, Punjab. The prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award was given to Dr. Zakir, who came up with the ideas for the Basmati 385 and extra-long grain Super Basmati varieties. The seed was made into more seeds and sold commercially in 1990. A lot of farmers and people around the world liked this new type of Basmati, which is now called Super Basmati or MG Basmati.
